Cat Weatherill presents 'The Golden Oak'

Cat Weatherill presents 'The Golden Oak’- the magic of trees

A walk  through a forest is one of life's greatest free pleasures. People love trees! ‘The Golden Oak’ enhances that pleasure.

Presented against a background of woodland photos by forester and photographer Phil Hinton, this show is a celebratory feast of facts, curious superstitions, folklore, stories, poems and songs, on the theme of British trees, set in an enchanting sylvan atmosphere.

Cat Weatherill is one of Europe’s leading performance storytellers. She has told stories at some of the most prestigious venues and festivals in the land, including the Royal Albert Hall, the Barbican, the South Bank Centre, The Cheltenham Literature Festival, the Edinburgh Book Festival and The Hay Festival (eleven times!)

She also works internationally, spanning the globe, from India to Scandinavia and Africa, and will be performing at the Sydney Writers Festival in May.

Storytelling is an ancient art, but with her fiery energy and instinctive magic, Cat makes it feel very contemporary. Her audiences are whisked away to other times, other places. Time passes but they don't notice. They are lost in the tale. Spellbound!
