'Namaste Nepal’

Showcase of Talents Festival Day to raise direct funds for earthquake victims in Nepal.

Tiny villages clinging to the remote mountainsides of Gorkha District, near the epicentre of the massive earthquakes that hit Nepal, have been ravaged. Entire clusters of homes have been reduced to piles of stone and splintered wood.

Local performers have joined forces in a Festival Day of workshops, entertainment, food, goods, prizes and bands to raise funds to send directly to Nepal, via Ghorka Learning for Life, to help families in need of immediate aid following the two recent devastating earthquakes.

The programme for the day so far includes:

10 – 11 am Mindfulness Workshop (Tickets £5), led by Kim Wilson

11am – 4 pm Open Mic session Theatre Lounge (Free admission). Come and show your talent as a stand-up comedian, singer, musician, or any other skill.

12.30 – 2 pm Curry Tiffin Theatre Lounge

1 – 2 pm Indian Head Massage Green Room (Tickets £5)

2 pm – AFTERNOON CONCERT on the Theatre Stage (Tickets £5, under 16s £3) – local musicians and performers join together to support those who need help in Nepal.

2.30 – 5 pm – Cream Teas Theatre Lounge

7.30 pm MAIN CONCERT on the Theatre Stage (Tickets £10 (£8 under 16, Seniors, BATS members).

Headlining act will be ‘My Black Hat’ a footstompin', dynamic four-piece acoustic band, playing Country Blues, Hokum and Ragtime.

Also performing are choir ‘Quay Harmony’, soloist Donna-Marie Hughes (Soprano) and 'Harry Hunt and Friends'. William Oxley will be giving a reading from his poetry book, 'Nameste, inspired by his visits to Nepal,
