GB Promotions presents 'A.J's Big Band and vocalist Paula Mitchell'

The swinging sounds of the big band first came into fashion in the 1930’s and one band in the South West is keeping the flame alive in the twenty first century, led by MD Ken Parr and vocalist Paula Mitchell,

Devon based A.J’s Big Band is now into its 33rd year and will be on stage at the Brixham Theatre on Friday 18th December with a packed two set programme of classics from the golden age of swing.

The most famous band leader of that era was of course Glenn Miller with best selling recordings such as In the Mood, Chatanooga Choo Choo and Pensylvania 6500. These pieces and other well known arrangements from Artie Shaw, Benny Goodman and Duke Ellington will feature in the Brixham Concert.

Complimenting the instrumental arrangements on stage will be the band’s stunning vocalist Paula Mitchell. Her unique style has become a firm favourite with audiences who love her fusion of up beat numbers and sentimental ballads.

With Christmas just around the corner, expect a sprinkling of festive songs, with added seasonal flavour and twist from this highly acclaimed seventeen piece band. Guaranteed to set the feet tapping.
