Two One-Act Plays Showcase

Two One-Act Plays Showcase South Devon abounds in drama writing and acting talent and this evening of one-act plays reflects the fine skills available in the area. Jef Pirie’s play ‘’I’d Like to Believe in Angels’ won ‘Best Play’ in the 2015 Teignmouth one-Act Play Festival and went on to scoop all prizes in the Somerset heat of the National One-Act Play Awards, winning ‘Best Play’, ‘Best Original Script’, ‘Best Actor’ and ‘Best Actress’. A new play by Austin Hawkins, ‘Faking Genuine’ is a Teignmouth Player’s Production and the final part of the trilogy ‘Friday’s Child’. The first part of the trilogy, 'Dress Down Friday', was performed in Brixham Theatre in 2013 and also was runner up in the All England Theatre Festival (English Semi final) that year and national runner up in the George Taylor Memorial Award for best original play produced in a festival in 2013. A Director and Writers discussion will take place after the performances.
