VE Day Evening Peace Commemorations - Thursday 8th May 2025.

VE Day was about looking forward to a new future after the end of WW2.  BATS are supporting the young people of Brixham in create banners celebrating Peace and staging a programme of events sharing their belief in a hopeful future.

6.30pm – A Peace Parade – Starting at the path to Shoalstone Pool  (Ladybird Path) on Berry Head Road, a parade of Peace Banners created by young people at Kick Up The Arts, walking to Shoalstone Green

The banners will be displayed around Shoalstone Green

7 pm – A Peace Concert with local musicians at Shoalstone Pool.  Organised by YES/MusicAtTheEdge and Shoalstone Seawater Pool

9.30 pm – Lighting of the Brixham Beacon at Shoalstone Green as part of the national chain of lights heralding the end of WW2 and Peace in Europe.

Organised by BATS (Brixham Arts & Theatre Society), A Kick Up The Arts, Brixham Town Council, MusicAtTheEdge and Shoalstone Seawater Pool.
